About Everyday Homeless – Medellín’s Grassroots Impact

Everyday Homeless is a community-driven nonprofit working directly with vulnerable children and families in Medellín, Colombia.

Their mission is simple but powerful:

To provide consistent support, safe spaces, nourishment, education assistance, and dignity to children and families experiencing housing instability and poverty.

Through after-school programming, food distribution, educational activities, mentorship, and community engagement, Everyday Homeless helps create stability and opportunity for those who need it most.

Their work focuses on:

  •  Providing food and essential resources
  •  Creating safe learning environments
  •  Offering mentorship and emotional support

📅 March 28 Volunteer Schedule – Medellín
11:00 AM – Meet at the Museum in Parque Botero
We gather as a group in central Medellín before walking together to the project location.
11:15 AM – Community Walk to the School
A guided walk through the neighborhood to understand the local environment and context.
11:45 AM – Arrival & Setup
Meet the Everyday Homeless team and prepare activity stations.
12:00 PM – Welcome & Introductions
Warm welcome with the children and team.
12:15 PM – 1:00 PM – Volunteer Activities
Interactive engagement including games, educational support, and structured play.
1:00 PM – Snack Break
Shared snack time with the kids.
1:30 PM – 2:30 PM – Continued Activities
Hands-on activities, connection, mentorship, and community engagement.
2:30 PM – Official Close
Participants may stay longer if they’d like to continue connecting.
 
Family Friendly (Ages 10+ Welcome)

This volunteer event is open to individuals, couples, families, and travelers with children ages 10 and up.

It’s a meaningful way to teach:

  • Global awareness

  • Service leadership

  • Cultural empathy

  • Community responsibility

This is an opportunity for families traveling to Medellín to give back together.
