The Expat Community Dinner at Jamaiquita is a casual group dinner hosted by MOOD Travel Abroad on Thursday December 10, 2026 at 7:00 PM at Jamaiquita Restaurant in the Laureles neighborhood of Medellin, Colombia. It brings together expats, prospective expats and members of the local community over Jamaican food. Registration is free and attendees pay their own way. Anyone in Medellin is welcome, whether or not they are attending other relocation week events.
Not Kingston. Not Brooklyn. Not Brixton. Medellin, Colombia, where the language is Spanish and the flag has nothing to do with the Caribbean.
People talk about the diaspora like it is a concept you read about in a book with a serious cover. It is not. It is a kitchen, and somebody had to move here and open it.
That is why this dinner is on the itinerary and not just a meal. Thursday night is the one where the week stops being about logistics and starts being about what you are actually walking into. A city with more threads running through it than the relocation content ever mentions.
Come hungry. Stay late.
In Medellin. Order what you want, pay your own way.
Plus expats already living here who come to these.
No talk, no agenda, no going round the table. Just dinner.
Free to register. Pay for your own plate. Bring your appetite.
Your best life is waiting. Let’s go get it.
